William G.D. Telser was born in Merano (Italy) on September 9th, 1973. his passion for Rock'n'Roll or better 'the King of Rock'n'Roll' has started on August 16th, 1977, the day Elvis Presley died, while his father Tony, a big fan of the 'king', was spending hours in front of the television watching all the various reports about Presley. Little William was not able to watch his favourite cartoons that night and thus sat down next to his father, asking the latter who the man in the white robe was...ever since this evening Elvis Presley has become his great passion.
At the age of 7 his father decided to send him to a guitar class, but William was bored because the lessons were quite different from what he expected them to be. The years went by and at the age of fourteen he learned the first useful chords to play 'Blues Suede Shoes'. In 1992 then he had his first successful appearance on stage at a contest for young talents, which brought him good luck in as much as he started with song performances imitating Elvis in the neighbourhoods of Merano and also abroad, especially at discos, pubs, hotels, aprésskis and touristic villages. After 10 years of singing experience with great success William achieved the first rank at the Elvis Karaoke contest of the Canary Islands. In 2003 he met a South-Tyrolean artist, who then was already well known abroad and who gave him a chance to sing at the Schloß Schönbrunn (castle) in Salzburg (Austria) at the “Mythos Sportwagentreffen”(a meeting for passionates of old sports cars) and then just a few months later also at the Great Sports Gala in Baden Baden (Germany)at the Schlosshotel Bühlerhöhe, in front of a selected audience such as ‘Kaiser’ Franz Beckenbauer, Jan Ullrich & Hanna Stockbauer, winners of the Sports Gala and respective members of the German National Team in their discipline. Then in 2003, he started performing on Ice in Icehockey Arenas. From Ice Hockey games to Women’s Ice Hockey World Championships in Vipiteno (BZ, Italy) 2004 and the Ice Shows. In March 2004 he had his last performance as a solist .
After that he decided to found a Rock’n Roll Band; this is how the band “William T & the Black 50’s” was started. After 5 months the first Cd with the title “That’s It” was recorded. The band toured great parts of Europe and participated at the greatest contests such as Elvis Day, Elvis Lives On and Elvis Rocking Recoaro, and this with great success and also living a wonderful experience. In 2010 the band changes a little, reducing itself to 4 members.
William has long become known across the boarders of his Northern Italian home, thanks to performances at the Goog Rockin Tonight Festival in France, the Uferlos Festival in Freising, Rockabilly Weekender in Walldorf, Rockabilly Convention and Rockabilly Weekend in Pullmancity (all in Germany), various Tattoo-and Harley Conventions, at an Andreas Gabalier Aftershow Party in Kitzbùhel, International Rockabilly Jamboree (all in Austria) as well as winning several Elvis Festivals and band conventions, and of course appearances on various International Radio Stations.
Unmistakably distinctive remains his tight connection to the original style of the “King of Rock’n’Roll” and of other great artists of the 50’s. Nevertheless, William also demonstrates rocking authenticity in his own songs. He won a recorded deal at an International Rockabilly Contest in Germany in 2014. Then followed his second album “Shake It Baby”, including 9 of his own songs.
The song Rock’n’Roll And Sex scored him an award for Best Rockabilly Song at The Akademie Awards in Los Angeles, in January 2016.
In March 2017 his first single album "GO ON ICE" was published and immediately became a hit and he was awarded as Southtyrolean of the day.
The 3th Album will be released in January 2018.
