Stonegrey is a four-piece rock band out of the Tampa Bay area. Noted for their youth, these young gentlemen are anything but rookies, having played together for the better part of a decade - pulling double duty between writing, recording and performing original music as well as offering a very accomplished catalog of covers spanning northward of 40 years.
These Florida boys have become a rock staple in the area and are rapidly spreading their influence across the I-4 corridor to the east coast, south to Naples, and soon, to all places north. Their original music has been played on 98 Rock, 97X and Q102 locally, 96 Rock in Ft Myers and on 97.2 The Beach in St Augustine, in all fifty states and internationally via terrestrial and internet radio. Stonegrey has also had the pleasure of appearing as a featured indie artist on the nationally syndicated morning program, The Daily Buzz, boasting a potential viewership of over 60 million people.
Their new record, Voice of Reason, continues to expand on what draws people to their shows by exploring the depths of melodic rock or even better, what Brent Smith of Shinedown once termed, “super-rock - big, arena sound; southern influence with the crunch of new metal". It is exactly the influence of bands like Shinedown, Black Stone Cherry and Alice in Chains that steady the foundation on which Stonegrey has built their success
Stonegrey has grown and evolved from the quintessential garage band to a legitimate force in the Florida music scene. Their youth rarely escapes attention, but when audiences and other musicians hear them play, their performance is, most often, met with a measure of disbelief. They have talent beyond their years, but more so, they have a passion for what they do and it shows. They know they can hang, musically and ability-wise, with any band in the area and as such, they have gained the acceptance as one of the big boys in town.
Stonegrey consists of Eric Whitener, vocals and rhythm guitar, Tristan Dusek, lead guitar, Tommy Dunne, bass and Tyler Dusek, percussion and backing vocals. Each brings their own style to the band, but more so, their unique talent. Each possesses something special, whether it is Tristan (Trip) absolutely “killing it” on guitar, Eric, delivering vocals with raw, rare talent or Tyler, expertly holding it all together with his knowledge of music and his unmatched timing. As an ensemble, Stonegrey, just “clicks”. They have that special chemistry, the look, the charisma, the appeal to continually push the success envelope. Stonegrey is the real thing. Make no mistake.
